Maintenance Program How to maintain precision tools. With proper care and handling, all Busch Precision products will provide virtually unlimited service. Please read and follow these care instructions to protect your investment and realize the maximum use and value from your equipment. We encourage you to bring in any precision tool every two years for maintenance and recertification. Even if the most stringent care protocol is followed, your precision tools still need to be maintained. Busch Precision is your perfect one-stop shop for all your precision tooling needs. Cleanliness General cleanliness is vital to ensure a long and useful life for all types of precision equipment. It is also extremely critical to achieving accurate calibration readings from your instrumentation. It is vital that all precision finished surfaces are kept free from dust, abrasive particles, and chips along with the surfaces on which the equipment will be used. Rust and Corrosion Caused by moisture, humidity, and perspiration, rust and corrosion are a continuing concern for ferrous materials. Perspiration is particularly corrosive because of the salt content. Equipment should be carefully wiped after handling. When not in use, it should be lightly oiled or coated with a rust preventative. For extended periods of storage a long-life rust preventative is recommended. Careful Handling Careful handling is also critical to preserving the accuracy of all precision equipment. Even seemingly minor bumps or damage can disturb tolerances measured in tenths. Equipment that has been dropped or subjected to a sharp blow or shock should be carefully inspected for surface damage and checked to determine if accuracy has been affected. |
